Fleet sale prices. Durable and easily customizable compared to a unibody police car like the new Taurus.

Towing/hauling equipment. I have no problem with this.

Why what? Police truck for rural counties that have a lot of off road police chases.

Police SUV's are just as capable.

If you're going to clean up that deer corpse of the local two lane you need a truck bed to toss it in.

Quite common in small towns, especially in regions that get snow.

my PD has an 80's extended cab long bed Dodge Ram for hauling the horse trailer. I have wanted it forever.

Ehhh.. Police SUVs are usually lowed by a lot.
One good bump and that front splitter is gone

The silverado starts at $25,500. The Tahoe starts at $44,000. I think that's a good place to start looking as to "why".

They're usually 2WD as well.

I bet that many big cities in the South will get that.

- Can Tow Trailers
- Cheaper than an SUV
- Can pull people out of ditches
- Can plow snow

A proper truck can handle way more than a ute, and have the ability to go off road.

nothing wrong with that. They are useful here on the Texas Gult Coast especially the beach towns. Tow boat, haul gear, patrol the beach , and the streets.

yeah i have no problem with this.
![]() 04/29/2014 at 17:28 |

they are not really equipped to go off road if they need to. That's why pretty much all the game wardens have trucks

Nice! I live about 45 minutes north of you but I'm kayaking in Galveston Bay every other weekend.
